A jacaranda tree in bloom. Clusters of literally thousands of lavender, bell-shaped flowers dangle from statuesque branches during spring months in Santa Barbara. I call it "Purple season: because all town is painted in purple by these beautiful and picturesque tress.
Eventually, every last one of those magnificent lavender flowers will drop from your jacaranda tree, showering the earth below with purple rain.
